What is ChessMath?

ChessMath” is a math enrichment class for grades 1-6 that focuses on comprehension and understanding of mathematics, taught through the medium of chess by our expert Academic Coaches. Classes are 1x a week for 8 weeks (8 hours total).

Chess and math are deeply connected! This class uses chess strategy and logic to enhance problem-solving, critical thinking, pattern recognition, and spatial awareness. Math isn’t just in textbooks—it’s woven into everyday life, even in board games. By exploring these connections, you’ll develop a sharper, more analytical mindset.

ChessMath 1A:

For novice-level chess players, this class covers pre-algebra and pre-geometry topics.

Prerequisite: None

ChessMath 1B:

For novice-level chess players, this class covers pre-algebra and pre-geometry topics.

Prerequisite: ChessMath 1A

Space is limited to 10-15 students per session.
