Why do I tutor?

I tutor to help students reach their goals through additional support and individualized learning plans tailored to their skills and needs. I find it rewarding to support their progress and see their confidence and abilities grow.

Tutoring Experience

One student struggled to stay engaged with traditional lecture-style lessons and practice problems. I adapted by gamifying the homework and practice questions, drawing on their interest in video games. This approach sparked excitement, and they consistently performed at over 75% accuracy, making impressive progress.

Tutoring Style

My coaching talents include adaptivity, clarity, patience, and academic advising. I tailor strategies to each student's learning style to build confidence, independence, and long-term success, while also offering guidance on balancing school, extracurriculars, and college preparation.

Positive Learning Environment

A positive learning environment is one where mistakes are seen as learning opportunities, fostering growth and confidence. I prioritize student-led sessions to encourage self-discovery, allowing students to experience intrinsic motivation and positive reinforcement through their own success.

Importance of Being a Mentor

Being a mentor means supporting students through all aspects of their life, offering guidance as they navigate both academic challenges and broader personal growth. It’s about being a steady source of encouragement, providing advice, and helping them unlock their potential, building confidence and resilience for their future.
